All Rights Reserved.): Primary human monocyte-derived dendritic cells (DCs) were infected with Listeria monocytogenes ΔactA ΔinlB prfA(G145S), which expresses red fluorescent protein (red) from a PrfA-dependent promoter, at a multiplicity of infection of 10 for 30 min. Infected DCs were washed, spotted onto coverslips, and incubated in culture medium with gentamicin for 1 h. DCs were fixed and counterstained with Alexa Fluor 488 phalloidin (green) and 4′,6-diamidino-2-phenylindole (blue). (DC isolation and infection courtesy of Shruti Mathur and Johannes Hampl.)
